this world wide event!
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities world wide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Since the 30-Hour Famine started in 1992, the number of children who die from hunger and preventable diseases has fallen from 40,000 to 27,000 a day.
Youth will be in for an unforgettable encounter with poverty and hunger. This year: TRIBE (a game of survival) goes to one of the oldest civilizations on earth-Ethiopia. Youth will become part of a tribe each of which corresponds to a real people group in Ethiopia.
Our fast starts after lunch on Friday, February 26, 2010. Youth will be “locked-in” at the church starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Along with the TRIBE game we will be performing community service projects, games and more! Family, friends and all members are invited to join us on Saturday, February 27th at 6:00 p.m. to “break-the-fast” and share in our experience. Please bring a covered dish to share. We will be very hungry!
